Our trust in the Egyptian military forces, which is based on their patriotic stance during the revolution, is a constant that no one is allowed to doubt or question. First: Total denouncement of all attempts to keep Prime Minister's Ahmed Shafik's illegitimate cabinet in power; the cabinet that lost its legitimacy the day the people started their revolution on January 25 demanding the toppling of the president and his regime! Second: Putting the current constitution on hold is not a substitute for the main demand of the revolution: The current constitution has to be nullified completely. For the time being, a temporary constitutional document can be issued with the amended constitutional clauses after they have been approved by the people in an open referendum supervised by the judiciary system. Over an above, all internationally approved human rights principles are to be an inseparable part of this constitutional document. This document is temporary until an elected committee formulates a new constitution that satisfies the aspirations of Egyptians for a civil democratic country ruled by institutions. This demand is of utter importance because abiding by the current constitution is an open backdoor for the previous regime's watchdogs to come back in power through its loopholes.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Third: All attempts to bypass the popular demand of immediate investigations and due punishment of the elements of the police forces who were responsible for bloodshed, death, or maiming of Egyptians whether by giving or obeying orders of using violence against unarmed protesters. For example, the latest interviews of current Minister of Interior, Mahmoud Wagdy, reflect such attempts to burry the police force's bloody hatchet by denying any violence used by security forces during the first ten days of the revolution. Trust between Egyptian citizens and the security forces will not be restored unless the current security apparatus is purged!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Sixth: This communiqué is also an official declaration of solidarity with the lawfully justified demands of Egyptian laborers and workers and their current strikes and demonstrations to have those demands met. Specially that their legitimate demands are the basic rights to increase their minimum wages and to purge their respective organizations of corrupt elements; their demands are the same as those of the revolution: Freedom, Change, and Social Justice.
