“Tantura”, a movie by Alon Schwarz and Teddy Katz, an Israeli researcher whose thesis was discovered by coincidence and published in a newspaper by a journalist. The scandal put Katz on trial and ended his academic career in 1998. Katz shared more than 140 hours of taped interviews with Arab and Jewish interviewees. The movie documents the massacre in Tantura – a small Palestinian fishing village in 1948. Of the 63 Israeli settlers Katz interviewed, three women and a man remain alive and are featured in the movie by Schwarz. You can watch Tantura with Arabic captions here.
